Embrace the Gallery Wall

Who doesn’t love wandering around an art museum pausing to admire the collection of beautiful pictures mounted on the wall? If the aesthetic of art museums excite you, then creating a gallery wall in your own home could be right up your alley.

Gallery walls are a great way to display your favorite photos of your family or best friends—as a current college student I definitely have more photos than I can count. They also give you an excuse to invest in some interesting art pieces or share the pieces you already own.

Blank walls get an instant update with a collection of several photos or pictures of various sizes and shapes. It’s a little bit like an arm party, in that more is definitely better when it comes to gallery walls. Check out some of my favorite examples of gallery walls below.

I love how the mirror adds more dimension and depth to the room, and the striped wall paper is the perfect canvas for this collection of art and artifacts. (image)

The black and white motif of the photos makes the vibrant printed couch pop even more. But the photos don’t just fade into the background, the interesting arrangement ensures eyes land on the photos and not just the couch. (image)

Thin or strangely shaped strips of wall can become a vocal point of any room with the addition of several photos in an interesting array. (image)

The old-timey feel of this staircase is made even more classic by the addition of old fashioned art work in a wraparound gallery wall. (image)

This is one of the most innovative gallery walls I have ever seen. Placing the photos on top of a wall decal add even more aesthetic appeal to this icy blue wall. I absolutely love this! (image)
